This week the Government unveiled its new National Cancer Plan.
For the first time it highlights the unique challenges faced by families fighting childhood cancer.
Here Katie, our CEO and founder, shares her thoughts:
“Cancer sucks at any age, but imagine losing your childhood or your teenage years to painful cancer treatments and side effects, missing out on school or being with your friends.
“I set up Gold Geese because I wanted to help families going through what I did with my daughter, to make these awful times just a bit easier and to know they’re not alone.
“We’re a member of the Children and Young People’s Cancer Coalition and join them in hoping this strategy brings about real-world, urgent improvements for families dealing with the emotional, financial and practical challenges of childhood cancer here in Essex and across the country.”
