Your muddy fundraising will support local families facing childhood cancer and will help provide everything from food vouchers, toys and treats, to vital counselling for the whole family – a lifeline when dealing with the stress of a very sick child.

You’ll be helping families like Piper’s.

Five-year-old Piper from Southend was diagnosed with B lymphoblastic lymphoma when she was just two years old, after her parents discovered a large lump on the side of her head.

She underwent two and a half years of chemotherapy, missing out on nursery and half of her reception year at school. She’s now off treatment and catching up on school work as best she can at home.

Gold Geese arranged hotels for Piper’s family during lengthy hospital stays, food vouchers and deliveries of toys and treats. We also gave them a new sofa after finishing cancer treatment as the family’s old one took a battering during the long weeks isolating at home while Piper’s immune system was compromised.

Piper’s mum Sam says,

“It meant all the world knowing we had Gold Geese support to make life that little bit easier.”

Sam has raised around £5000 in the last two Gold Geese x Nuclear Races fundraisers and plans to enter a team for the 2024 event.

“We absolutely love running this race, we run it as a family with friends and it’s so much fun. My advice is to get a good team that will work together and to have fun.”
