Going, going GOLD!
Thank you so much to our amazing community for Going Gold this September to show your support for local children living with cancer. Here’s a little Gold Gallery of some of the highlights.
As well as offering practical support for families we organise fun activities like day trips, treats and mini breaks as they’re a massive boost in helping a family bond, taking their minds off the situation and allowing them the opportunity to enjoy time together like any other family.
This month we arranged a very special all-expenses-paid trip to London Zoo on the Gold Geese train, and a kids’ pamper session at Lila’s Spa to give kids and their families a little boost.
Kirsty, who came along on the zoo trip with her son, Edward, told us
“I can’t thank Gold Geese enough for today. Edward has had such an amazing day. We felt really normal today and it was lovely.”
Fatma, mum to Ahmed who also came, said:
“Thank you for such a memorable day! The kids are so, so happy and still buzzing. Such a lovely day had by all.”
We’re so grateful to the many businesses, schools and supporters who went gold, including Skye, our Gold girl who went along Rayleigh High Street encouraging businesses to put up posters; Other Letters, BoniVee, Tangerine toy shop, Cult Coffee, Barlow and Fields, Create 98, Other Kids, PS Dance, Ruby and Willow, Leigh Community Centre, Chalkwell Schools, St Michael’s School and many others.
We’ll be announcing the winner of our photo competition with c2c soon, keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook and Instagram!
