Job Title: Fundraising Manager
Location: Must be able to travel across South East Essex and ideally work at least one day a week in our Leigh-on-Sea office
Hours: 28 – 40 hours per week, to be negotiated at interview. Includes occasional evenings and weekends for events (time off in lieu is given)

Contract: Permanent
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 FTE, depending on hours worked

About us:

Gold Geese is a small charity in South East Essex which supports local families fighting childhood cancers. Everybody’s experience of cancer is different, so our care and support is tailored to each family, and includes help for siblings and parents.

Gold Geese support ranges from funding for mental health therapy, food shop vouchers, toys and gifts, weekend trips away and practical help with travel to and from hospitals.

We also aim to raise awareness of childhood cancer signs and symptoms and encourage people to donate blood and register as stem cell donors.

About the role:

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Fundraising Manager to help grow and diversify our income and help generate support to see local families through the toughest of times. You’ll work closely with our small team in a warm, friendly and supportive environment, with autonomy to make the role your own and lead on work that’s critical to the organisation and the families it supports.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and deliver creative fundraising campaigns and events, including our Christmas Grotto, Nuclear Races and Goslings children’s fun-run
  • Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, community fundraisers, and local businesses and schools, including in Chelmsford which is a newer area for us
  • Identify and apply for relevant grants and trusts
  • Manage Gift Aid processes, our supporter database and our JustGiving page
  • Inspire volunteers and supporters to fundraise on our behalf as well as turn Gold in September for childhood cancer awareness month
  • Celebrate and thank everyone who gives their time, money, or energy to support our cause

About You:

  • Experience in fundraising, community engagement, or donor development (paid or voluntary)
  • Warm, personable, and confident building relationships at all levels
  • Creative, organised, and able to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children and families affected by cancer

Why Join Us:

You’ll be part of a caring, collaborative and creative team where your ideas are valued and your work makes a true difference. We’ll encourage you to develop and test new income generation ideas and ways to inspire and thank our local community for their support.

We all work flexibly, you’ll get time off in lieu and can work from our dedicated office space in Leigh-on-Sea or remotely within Essex. We welcome candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences and want Gold Geese to represent the broad diversity of our community.

How to Apply:

Please send your CV and a short cover letter (no more than two sides) showing us how you meet the criteria below to [email protected] by midnight, 2nd November. Interviews will be in w/c 10th November in person.
