A huge thank you to Ruth Sage from Billericay who had all her hair shaved off this month to fundraise for Gold Geese!

And what’s more, Ruth’s hair is being donated to the charity Little Princess Trust, so it can be used in real hair wigs for children and young people who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment.

Through her sponsored head shave, a fundraising dinner and selling her homemade crochet items to friends and colleagues Ruth has raised an amazing £2000 for Gold Geese.

We think Ruth’s head shave is especially brave at this time of year and is a brilliant way of helping raise awareness of childhood cancer and encouraging people to make a donation if they’re able to.

Ruth Sage says:

“I’m Chairman of Southend Tangent Club and chose to support Gold Geese this year as it’s such a worthwhile charity. My hair will grow back and although it’ll be chilly for a while yet it’s a small price to pay to help local families affected by childhood cancer. I’m a keen crocheter and have already knitted myself a new hat to help my head while it’s still so cold out.”
